the story behind the art

Câline Farah is a Lebanese-French artist born in Beirut. Her paintings are quiet yet powerful expressions, inviting viewers into spaces of emotion, story, and compassion.
Deeply inspired by beauty in all its forms – art, nature, and the divine – she initially pursued a career in law, working for many years in Lebanon and Dubai in legal and administrative roles. Yet the pull of art remained constant, leading her to eventually dedicate herself fully to painting.
Her connection to art began at an early age. One of her earliest memories is painting a small pebble as a gift for her father, an intimate gesture that marked the beginning of her creative journey.
In 2005, she began studying painting in Dubai and later in Lebanon. What started as a personal refuge gradually evolved into a committed, lifelong practice. Over time, her work moved from figurative and realistic approaches toward abstraction, which she continues to explore today.
Working across a range of media, including acrylic, ink, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, and gold leaf, she is driven by an ongoing search for texture, balance, and subtle emotional resonance.
Since 2019, she has devoted herself fully to her artistic practice, participating in exhibitions and initiatives across New York, Dubai, and Beirut.
Having lived through the many chapters of the Lebanese war, her work carries a sensitivity to light, memory, and resilience. Through layered compositions and nuanced color, her paintings evoke a quiet visual language that invites contemplation and connection.
Her recent body of work, Soft Impact, was presented in a solo exhibition in Beirut in 2026.
